Dr. Jim Birckhead

Dr. Jim Birckhead attended the University of Tennessee where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and graduated Cum Laude in 1981. He received his Doctorate in 1985 from the University of Tennessee at Memphis College of Dentistry. Dr. Birckhead is committed to postdoctoral education and staying abreast of the latest innovations in dentistry. He far exceeds the recommended continuing education units each year to ensure that his patients receive the best comprehensive general, cosmetic, and sedation dentistry available. Dr. Birckhead has extensive post-graduate training and experience in oral conscious sedation, porcelain veneers, small-diameter implants and root canal therapy.  He utilizes a computerized WAND anesthetic delivery system to replace the dental shot so that dental phobic patients can relax and enjoy a comfortable dental experience. Most importantly, he believes in creating an inviting environment built on trust and open communications with his patients.

Dr. Birckhead is highly regarded in the Nashville community. In 2004, readers of the Nashville Scene selected him “Nashville’s Best Dentist”.  He also gladly leads philanthropic dental missions to Haiti every year. Dr. Birckhead is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Nashville Dental Society, Tennessee Dental Association and the American Dental Association and is on staff at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Dr. Birckhead enjoys church, farming, golfing, and family time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Dr. Jeff Powers

Dr. Jeff Powers attended Vanderbilt University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree and graduated with honors in 1996. He received his Doctorate in 2000 from the University of Tennessee at Memphis. Dr. Powers graduated in the top 5 from his dental school program. His scholastic achievements were honored with scholarships from two prestigious foundations and the Dean’s List for Scholastic Achievement. Dr. Powers was inducted into two honorary societies for his academic accomplishments, devotion to study throughout the curriculum, high moral standards and potential to make noteworthy contributions to the field of dentistry after graduation.

Dr. Powers has extensive post-graduate training and experience in oral conscious sedation, cosmetic veneers, mini-implants, endodontic therapy, and Invisalign orthodontic therapy. Dr. Powers and his team deliver exceptional dental care in their modern facility using the latest techniques and technology. His goal is to provide patients with a positive, comfortable dental care experience based on mutual trust and communication.  Dr. Powers is also an active member of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. He enjoys sports, fishing, church, playing the guitar, and time with his wife and two sons.
